  • A walk in London

(Continued from A stroll in Haworth)

On the third day, I checked out of the Heathfield B&B on the rainy morning. Since it was a weekday, Keighley Worth & Valley Railway was out of service. The mistress took me to the nearest bus stop on Rawdon Road and told me to wait there for the bus for Keighley.

While waiting for the bus, an old lady talked to me. She asked me where I was going. I answered that I was going to London. Another lady joined us, and they and I talked a bit until the bus was coming.

On the bus, I sit on the upper front seat, and the ladies stayed downstairs. Arriving at Keighley bus terminus, I got out of the bus. The train station was a bit distant from the terminus, so I didn’t know how to get there.

Then the lady who had talked to me first at the Rawdon Road bus stop found me standing there, and told me to follow her to the train station as she was just going for shopping near there. How kind of her! I was able to get to the Keighley train station with her help.

  • Hong Kong and Macau / 香港・マカオ旅行

    日本文が後ろに続きます。

I forgot to say that I had a trip to Hong Kong this year as well. I departed Japan on 23 November and returned on 26. What I did there is:

    • I had an investment account opened at HSBC to buy a unit trust.
    • I extended my journey as far as Macau, where I couldn’t do so many things, though.
    • I wanted to get iPhone5 if I had much money, but I didn’t.

I uploaded a set of photos on Flickr.

  • Hotel where I stayed

    Hotel where I stayed

I stayed at Novotel Hotel near Taipei International Airport for this trip. I took this hotel online on Expedia.co.jp. It was super gorgeous, with a clean and modern room and a wide bed with two pillows.

You can see an airplane taking off from the guest room window because this hotel is located right beside a runway.

One problem: as it’s very close to an airport, when a plane takes off at midnight its roaring sound will wake you up 🙁 It’s recommended to avoid staying near an airport.

  • Sightseeing in Taipei — Longshan Temple

Sightseeing in Taipei — Longshan Temple

Taipei International Airport looked as if it had been a major airport in Japan. Signs looked almost as same as those in a Japanese airport, except that they were written in traditional Chinese characters.
If you go to the bus stop on the first floor of the airport you can catch a route 705 bus to HSR Taoyuan Station, costing just NT$30 (almost 1USD). It’s too cheap!

There were no other passengers but me in the big double-decked bus.
